2nd Volume DVD

On May 21, 2009 Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. launched the 2nd Volume DVD “Audio Visual Demonstration on Standard Construction Practice in context of Bangladesh; Volume 02” in a seminar jointly organized by Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. and Engineering Staff College Bangladesh (ESCB) at IEB Seminar room, Ramna, Dhaka. Dr. A. M. M. Safiuallah, Vice Chancellor, BUET and Engr. Tanveerul Haque Probal, President, REHAB was present as the Chief and Special guest respectively. Engr. Tanvir Ahmed Siddique, Chairman, Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd., and Engr. Sadiq Altaf, Research Engineer, Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. presented the DVD in the seminar.

1st Volume DVD

On August 2008, Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. launched the 1st volume DVD “Audio Visual Demonstration on Standard Construction Practice in context of Bangladesh; version 01” in a seminar jointly organized by Bangladesh Earthquake Society (BES) and Engineering Staff College Bangladesh (ESCB) at IEB Seminar room, Ramna, Dhaka. Honorable Advisor Major General (retd.) Ghulam Quader was present as the chief guest in the seminar. Engr. Hamid-uz-zaman, Managing Director, Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd.’ presented the DVD. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, Brac University.

Research on Standard Construction Practice in context of Bangladesh.

Background

In January 2008 UTTARAN Structural Designers Ltd. started a research on standard construction practice in context of Bangladesh by developing series of video footages of many items of construction works such as concrete mixing, casting, brickwork, piling, plumbing, painting, etc.

The footages mainly focus on the ideal process of standard construction works and commonly made mistakes in context of Bangladesh. The footages are being prepared with direct voluntary guidance & advices from many reputed & experienced professionals of BUET, PWD, IEB and also some members of REHAB. The main objective of this work is to develop the construction quality of Bangladesh and also the development of human resource in the construction sector.

On May 21, 2008 Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. and Engineering Staff College Bangladesh (ESCB) jointly organized a seminar at the IEB seminar room to officially inaugurate the research work. Dr. Shamim Z Bosunia, Professor, Civil Engineering Dept, BUET was present as the Chief Guest in the seminar. Engr. Sadiq Altaf of Uttaran Structural Designers Ltd. presented footages on column kicker and plastic paint. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Engr. M. A. Hannan, Rector, ESCB.
